Whilst producing content for television, radio, online platforms and news agencies, MTVA also manages all assets on behalf of the Hungarian public service broadcaster Duna Media Service Non-Profit Ltd. MTVA also provides support with content production and acquisition. MTVA operates 6 television channels, 9 radio stations, a news agency (MTI) and numerous new media outlets.

MTVA provides approximately 40,000 hours of television, as well as 52,000 hours of radio programming each year. Programmes are also transmitted beyond Hungary - to Europe, the American continent and Australia. MTVA’s content is broadcast daily into an estimated 99% of Hungarian homes

V4 public service broadcasters sign cooperation agreement

MTVA Official LogoDirector Generals of the public service broadcasters of the countries of the Visegrád Group signed a cooperation agreement on 18 June 2015. The purpose of the agreement initiated by the Hungarian PSB is to strengthen the ties between the public service broadcasters of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia by offering programme- and news exchange opportunities.

The International Visegrád Fund will support these efforts from a separated budget. The public service broadcasters of the Visegrád Group will hold a themed day called “Visegrád Day” on 15 February 2016, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Visegrád cooperation.
