7 celebrities we want to invite to this Thanksgiving 2022

Get the turkey out of the oven, open a few cans of cranberry sauce, prep the tamales and have the dishes ready to go with them and not chipped. Thanksgiving 2022 is finally here! That means it’s time for good food, but also time to bring the people you love together to nurture those relationships. Yes, even the one with your Tía Marta, who always interferes in everything.

Thanksgiving is also a great time to make new friends. And who better to befriend than some of the celebrities whose talent has inspired you over the past year? Here’s a list of seven Latin American celebrities we’d like to invite to our house for Thanksgiving 2022. It is not necessary to reply. You can even show up at the end for dessert or even after dinner when everyone is sleeping on the couch watching the 2022 World Cup.

We will reserve a seat at the table for each of these guests and promise that it will not be next to our Tía Marta.

Tenoch Huerta

If anyone has made a cultural impact on the film industry this year, this is it whoahis role as Namor in the Marvel sequel Naked Panther: Wakanda Forever was a memorable one. The conversation at the dinner table doesn’t have to be all about superheroes either. Huerta’s upcoming book Orgullo Prieto covers racism and colorism in Mexico, which is a heavy subject but equally important, especially on a holiday associated with a fictional meal between happy natives and colonists in Plymouth. Huerta seems such a nice guy, he’d probably bring something to share – maybe a nice lamb’s lettuce in honor of Namor’s Mesoamerican roots.

bad bunny

Bad Bunny is the only celebrity on this list who attended last years, so he must have done something right. We can start by pointing to his album Un Verano Sin Ti, which has just been named Best Album of the Year by Time Magazine. He also won big at the Latin Grammys and became the first Latine ever to be named Apple Music’s artist of the year. At this point, we don’t even have to invite Bad Bunny to Thanksgiving dinner. It is an open invitation every year.

Katja Echazarreta

If she’s not still floating in the cosmos, Echazarreta can be our special guest at Thanksgiving this year. The electrical engineer became the first Mexican-born woman to ever travel to space when she boarded a Blue Origin rocket last summer. Discuss a story to tell at the dinner table. As long as Echazarreta doesn’t try to turn the glazed ham into a battery, we’re sure to have a nice visit.

If Brazilian singer-songwriter Linkier comes to dinner, we definitely ask her to bring the Latin Grammy she recently won for her debut solo album, Indigo Borboleta Anil. She became the first trans artist to win a Latin Grammy in the history of the awards ceremony. It’s such an impressive feat that this year we Liniker are giving the honor of carving the turkey. She deserves everything she has and more.

Ismael Cruz Cordova

Speaking of strong cultural influence on the entertainment industry – this year Cordova is to the television landscape what Huerta is to film. His participation in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power not only showed people that Latins can play any role Hollywood has to offer, but they can do it convincingly. We’ll be sure to lay out some Lembas bread for our favorite Lord of the rings Eleven and will ensure another seat is ready at the table if he decides to bring Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) as a plus-1.

The singer-songwriter would look gorgeous rolling to dinner in a flashy outfit and some silver chains around his neck. His Thanksgiving visit needs to be quick. He packs his US tour next day in Los Angeles so maybe we can send him away with an extra plate in case he gets hungry at the airport.

Keyla Monterroso Mejia

Assuming everyone wants Thanksgiving to be a big celebration, we’re going to need a few laughs at the dinner table. Who better to turn to than mejia, who proved this year that a guest role in a popular comedy series can also be a hit with audiences? In two episodes of dept Elementary, Mejia brought down the house as Ashley Garcia, a teacher’s assistant who has an enthusiastic approach to connecting with students in the classroom. Hopefully she brings this model skeleton with her Abbott Elementary School to sing-along.
