The No. 5 LSU Tigers (9-2) look to stay in the hunt for the college football playoffs when they play 4-7 Texas A&M in an SEC West Division contest on Saturday.
The Tigers have won five straight games, including a 32-31 overtime win over then-No. 6 Alabama on Nov. 5. The Aggies started the season sixth, but a six-game slip dropped them from the polls.
Here’s everything you need from a betting perspective on the LSU vs Texas A&M game, from point distribution, moneyline, overall over/under and expert picks (odds over FOX bet).
Playing against lower-level opponents in November is bad for college football
Joel Klatt explains the problem with teams playing lower-level non-conference opponents in November.
#5 LSU at Texas A&M (7 p.m. ET Saturday, ESPN)
Point distribution: LSU -10 (LSU favors win by more than 10 points, otherwise Texas A&M covers)
money line: LSU -455 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $12.20 total); Texas A&M +300 win underdogs (bet $10 to win $40 total)
Total Over/Under: Both teams scored 47.5 points together
Texas A&M Aggies
Select over Gambling Analyst Sam Panayotovich:
I wish I could get the points with the Aggies.
But after watching Jimbo Fisher’s team struggle to crack 20 points against the lowly UMass, I decided I’d rather burn my money. It’s very difficult to bet on a team that’s completely dead, so let’s look at another way – the total score.
Texas A&M will likely start freshman quarterback Conner Weigman, who has his job ahead of him against a pretty stingy LSU defense. I don’t expect Weigman to last many long drives, and you have to think that Fisher wants to play the field position game to try and keep it close.
That feels like 27-10.
SELECT: Under 47.5 scored by both teams combined at FOX Bet
