How to Make the Best Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sandwiches

According to our research, making a good sandwich isn’t all that difficult Pokemon Scarlet and violet – at least for the simpler ones. Pokémon will eat pretty much any combo you create. Of course, if you want bigger buffs, you need to make sure you get all the ingredients on the bottom bread and that the stack stays upright, otherwise the power level for a given buff can go down.

With simple sandwiches, it’s not difficult at all: just aim a little behind the spine of the bread and the ingredients will land where you want them. If you aim right at the center of the bread, your ingredients could just slide off the front.

How to stack sandwiches for optimal buffs

More complex sandwiches require a bit of strategy to put together. My best tip is to start with a solid base and build from there. And by “solid base” I mean put your thinnest stuff on the ground. Squeeze smaller, trickier things between other ingredients to keep them in place. For ingredients that can roll, like chorizo, I like to sandwich them between something with a bit of bulk, like bacon.

Regardless, it’s important to have a solid base. The ingredients interact with each other as they are placed, and the more ingredients you add, the trickier the sandwich becomes. The game is fairly lenient when it comes to awarding stars to sandwiches – one to three – but if your stack collapses, you’ll likely get fewer stars.

Whether the ingredients have synergy or not has nothing to do with taste at all. Spread mayo and mustard on your fruit sandwich. Stack a sandwich with just meat. Go vegetarian — and minimal — using only herbs and spices. Instead, it’s all about assembling the combination of buffs you want to use, things that will help you on your journey.

Why you should make sandwiches with friends

Here’s a hot tip: if you’re making sandwiches with friends, you’ll have a larger piece of bread to work with, making stacking ingredients a little easier.

But how do you make a sandwich that suits you?

That’s a different story. It depends on your goals in this moment: What are you doing right now? Pokemon scarlet and violet? Are you looking for shiny eggs? Or do you want to pick up a certain type of items or maybe increase the fairy type spawns? You should choose your sandwich ingredients in a way that allows you to make the most of the passive buffs according to your own goals.

You can understand more about how a particular sandwich may affect you by learning about the ingredients. There are a number of different passive buffs that come from sandwiches.

  • encounter power: You’re more likely to find certain types
  • catch power: More likely catches will succeed
  • Raid Power: More rewards from Tera Raid battles
  • Teensy Power: Find rather small Pokémon
  • Humungo Power: You’re more likely to find large Pokemon
  • Item drop power: More materials found after the battle
  • Egg Power: It is more likely to find Pokémon Eggs
  • Sparkling Power: You are more likely to find Shiny Pokemon
  • Adv. point performance: More adult points gained
  • Title Power: You’re more likely to find Pokémon with titles

Condiments, which are spreadable or pourable items that are automatically applied to sandwiches, seem to change the type of buff, while fillings seem to adjust which elemental type the buff is applied to. And then there’s the taste to consider: sweet ingredients are attuned to egg power, while bitter ingredients give item drop power. Salty items like ham seem to increase encounter power. The flavor category of each ingredient is mentioned in the description of each item.

There’s a lot of trial and error involved, but building on these pre-made recipes might help figure out how to tweak sandwiches. Data miners are already finding the easiest and most efficient way to use sandwiches for the shiny hunt. However, these recipes require Herba Mystica, which is pretty hard to get – it’s given as a reward for five-star raid battles, and not always.
