With various awards such as one of the “40 most beautiful cities to visit in winter” by Country Life or the Hotel Colorado is represented as one AAA Colorado’s Hallmark Holiday Hotels, there is much to enjoy and experience in Glenwood Springs. Returning for its second year, Winter Wonderland is a community celebration running now through New Year’s Day. Enjoy dazzling plays of light and decorations in homes and businesses across the city. a range of large and small events; and a holiday decorating contest for homes and businesses.
A special Winter Wonderland event is Small Business Saturday – a day celebrating and supporting small businesses and everything they do for our community. Please join the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association and organizations across the country by shopping from locally owned, independent small businesses. The community is invited to attend the Glenwood Springs Visitor Center on Saturday, November 26 any time between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for a shopping kickoff event at 802 Grand Ave. stopping by to enjoy Christmas treats. Get a Small Business Saturday tote bag featuring a listing of Small Business Saturday events and other SWAG. Five random grocery bags will be filled with $100 worth of Glenwood Gold!
Launched in 2010 and officially co-sponsored by the Small Business Administration since 2011, Small Business Saturday has become an important part of the busiest shopping season for small businesses. Historically, the projected spending of US consumers shopping on Small Business Saturday at independent retailers and restaurants was an estimated $23.3 billion. You may not know it, but every time you grab a cup of coffee at your favorite neighborhood coffee shop or buy a gift from a local artist’s online shop, you’re shopping small and making a difference.
