‘Knock at the Cabin’ Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Storyline and More

the family at Knock at the Cabin

It’s always post-apocalyptic horror that gets the shine and appreciation. Meanwhile, apocalyptic horror (like the horror that takes place when the “end of the world” begins) isn’t nearly as common. M. Night Shyamalan’s new movie, Knock at the hutlooks like a satisfying movie for those of us who want to see more horror that depicts apocalyptic mayhem as it unfolds – such as: Fear the walking death, which began at the beginning of the apocalypse. It’s even more frightening how much panic people experience at the beginning of the end, or what is called “the end” (when it really isn’t).

There’s already a lot to get excited about with Shyamalan’s latest work. We’re not left in the dark when it comes to the cast, and the trailer doesn’t seem to give too much away – much like that barbarian revealed absolutely nothing in its trailer so we had no idea what was to come (unless someone spoiled it for you, then that’s a real shame). But let’s get ready to knock and see what Knock at the hut has in stock.

Knock at the hut Storyline and publication date

Official Storyline: “While vacationing in a remote cabin, a family of three is taken hostage by four strangers who demand that they make the ultimate sacrifice to avert the apocalypse.”

Knock at the hut looks like an actual, nerve wracking horror movie. Let’s face it: almost everyone would be spooked if random people showed up at their door and started talking about the apocalypse, right?! We anticipate a release date of February 3rd, 2023, which is fairly early in the year. Shyamalan’s previous film, Oldhit theaters in July 2021.

What can we learn by looking at this Knock at the hut Follower?

The fact is, despite this potential horror gem being based on a novel, M. Night Shyamalan is a real hit or miss as a filmmaker –The hut at the end of the world by Paul G Tremblay. I haven’t read the novel yet, although most reviews suggest it’s pretty good! It’s unclear how faithful Shyamalan’s film is to Tremblay’s novel, but based on Goodreads’ plot synopsis, the trailer itself is a faithful adaptation.

I have to mention that the family is not only a gay couple and their child but also seems so authentic. That’s not always the case in horror films, where we often don’t care about one or the other protagonist.

who is in the Knock at the hut to water?

  • Dave Bautista as Leonard
  • Jonathan Groff as Andrew
  • Ben Aldridge as Eric
  • Nikki Amuka Bird as Adriane
  • Kristen Cui as Wen
  • Abby Quinn as Sabrina
  • Rupert Grint as Redmond

The cast has some talented people, so let’s not expect bad performances!

bonus facts

  • According to Wikipedia, Shyamalan wrote this script fairly quickly, which seems unusual for him. We’ll see if that paid off for the film!
  • in the Knock at the hut, four strangers appear at the door and warn of an apocalypse. Four strangers… four horsemen… a bit obvious, but still funny.
