The Woi satellite, owned by New Zealand communications company MMG Communications, today announced significant price reductions and speed increases on two of its consumer plans.

Woi has also launched an unlimited data plan for $100 per month with 12Mbps download speed and 10Mbps upload speed. It will also, for the first time, introduce an unlimited data plan with 85Mbps download and 20Mbps upload for $159, the same retail price as Starlink in New Zealand.

“Our biggest advantage is that we are local and many Kiwis still want to support a Kiwi-owned business. We have sufficient satellite capacity nationwide and there are no waiting times. Our rural customers want local support and we are providing that in the country,” said Richard Broadbridge, director of Woi.

The price reduction will apply to all existing customer accounts from January 1st and anyone who signs up by March 31st will benefit from the promotional offers.

Woi will begin activating the new plans in December with a nationwide general install rate of $495.

It’s a great time to jump on board. Never before has a New Zealand satellite provider sold 100Mbps internet for less than $160 a month.

The new plans are available to pre-order now on Woi’s website: www.woi.co.nz
