SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC announced today that the club will host a viewer party on Friday, November 25 at 11:00 am PT when the USA men’s national team takes on England at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. England top Group B after a stunning 6-2 win over Iran, while the USMNT are second after a 1-1 draw with Wales on Monday. Friday’s free event at The Armory at Seattle Center gives fans of all ages the opportunity to join Sounders FC and cheer for the Stars and Stripes as they battle it out at the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 2014.
In Monday’s USMNT game against Wales, Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris and former Seattle defender DeAndre Yedlin came on as second-half substitutes. This marked a special moment for Seattle football fans as two homegrown players from Sounders FC took the field on the largest stage in the world. The current sounder Cristian Roldan was also available for the matchday squad.
PT Watch parties will be held next Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 am for all United States group stage matches, including US vs. Iran. Admission is free and on a first come, first served basis, with admission for each game beginning at 9:00 am PT and continuing until The Armory reaches capacity.
Those who come to the parties can look forward to following the games in an electrifying group atmosphere on a large screen. Sounders FC will also feature pre-game musical entertainment, interactive games and a variety of ways to win exciting prizes including an authentic framed USMNT jersey, limited edition Sounders FC adidas Ultraboost x COPA shoes and more.
Additional special giveaways and prizes include:
- The Puyallup Tribe’s Emerald Queen Casino is giving away a night’s accommodation at their new EQC Tacoma hotel along with a $100 dining credit to Slahal, the hotel’s exclusive rooftop restaurant.
- Adidas is giving away USMNT posters featuring adidas athletes and is offering its adiClub giveaway of autographed USMNT gear and adidas gift cards.
- At the Watch Party on November 25, WaFd Bank, the exclusive banking partner of Seattle Sounders FC, generously donated two jerseys signed by Stefan Frei and ten 2022 throwback hats to be given out as prizes to fans.
All Armory food and drink venues will be open at each Watch Party, with an additional beer garden area offered for attendees aged 21 and over. Additionally, the first 1,500 guests to attend each Watch Party can receive a Sounders-themed World Cup Rally Towel, while the first 300 Sounders FC season ticket members to attend each Watch Party can receive an exclusive World Cup Get Sounders Long Sleeve T-Shirt.
Fans can also take part in the recently announced MLS Qatar Quest Bracket Challenge, which offers an opportunity to complete a bracket to win big prizes.
Sounders FC striker Jordan Morris and midfielder Cristian Roldan have both been included in the latest 26-man USA men’s national team squad announced earlier this month, marking the first FIFA World Cup nomination for both players. With Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin both called up in 2014, Sounders FC are the only club to have selected multiple players for the USMNT in each of their last two World Cup appearances. With Xavier Arreaga (Ecuador) and Nouhou (Cameroon) also traveling to Qatar, these are the most active Sounders FC players ever to be nominated for a single FIFA World Cup, with Seattle’s four finishing third among all MLS this year -Teams occupied.
