Thanksgiving 2022 Publisher’s Letter featuring Renee Dee

Thanksgiving pub letter

publisher Renee Dee shares what she loves most Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

WWith Thanksgiving and the holidays are coming, it is my wish that each of you be surrounded by those you love and by those you love. In this busy time of year, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is a little rest and time to be present with the joys of the season.

For me, that means spending time with what Julie Andrews calls “some of my favorite things.” (By the way, I usually play “The sound of music‘ in the background of my baking, wrapping and table setting several times each December… and when I’m alone I belt out every word of every song.)

My favorite thing to do this time of year is entertaining and beautifying my home. Start with Thanksgiving– it has always been my favorite holiday – it is a moment of gratitude for the many gifts we have all received and for the happy moments that have created joy and success in our lives. I love the tradition of everything — I’ve been making my grandmother’s cranberry relish to grace the table and share with friends for more than 30 years.

As the season picks up steam, I’m unpacking a full Christmas installation of accent pillows, throws, arrangements and accessories to really bring the holiday season to life. Then I visit the tree plot with my son and we enjoy the selection a living tree this will make the house smell amazing! I love baking for friends, because homemade treats are a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the past year.

Up until Christmas Eve, my favorite tradition is to entertain with a full presentation Caviar and all the equipment. I use my pearlescent spoons and scalloped bowls. I’m bringing out the crystal and fine linen, and my favorite sterling silver champagne bucket contains a bottle of these Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé. Sparkling lights and lots of candles make this the most romantic evening of the year.

As 2022 draws to a close, it’s time again for me to invest time in my annual goal setting ritual to start the new year off right. It’s been a tradition of mine for almost three decades, and it makes me feel grounded and so grateful. If you want to join me this year, I’ll be sharing my process on iconiclife.com.

For me, the holidays are full of joy for all the expected traditions and unexpected moments. The most important thing is to take the time to enjoy both.

I’m looking forward to 2023 with great excitement…we have a special edition celebrating all that is fun and exciting about luxury living in Arizona for visitors who will enjoy it all Barrett Jackson car auction to the World Championship Phoenix Open to the Big Game that is taking place in our city this year.
