There is currently no exact release date for The Acolyte. With that in mind, we expect it to be released in late 2023, most likely in winter 2023. Two main factors are at play here. The first is that filming for the show didn’t start until October 2022, and normally war of stars Shows have taken just over a full year to reach audiences. So the time frame for the end of production is just as correct as for the end of publication. We will have The Mandalorian Season 3 will be released in February 2023, followed by Ahsoka a short time later in the spring, and then we have Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Release in either late fall or early winter. Assuming Disney doesn’t want the live action war of stars Shows overlap (which they’ve avoided in the past) that happens The Acolyte for a late fall or early winter release in 2023, but with a possible delay it may be pushed back to 2024.

The show, like everyone else, will be released on Disney+ war of stars. Fortunately for the international war of stars Disney+ has continued to expand its serviceable locations, so over 140 countries now have access to their favorites war of stars Content about the streaming service and its partners.

Who is in the cast of The Acolyte?

If you were worried that the show’s cast wouldn’t be able to pull off this amazing mystery thriller, you can instantly dispel that fear. One of the absolute superstar actresses involved is Carrie Anne Moss (The Matrix), whose role is currently undisclosed. The main character is played Amanda Stenberg (The hate you give), who will be the former Padawan the show will focus on. The two main male actors (one of whom is believed to be Amandla’s former master) are Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) and Manny Jacino (The good place). The show also features actors and actresses of all ages including Dafne Keen (logan) and Jodie Turner Smith (Anne Boleyn). The cast is rounded off by us Rebecca Henderson (Russian doll), Charlie Barnett (men in black 3), and Dean Charles Chapman (game of Thrones).

It should be noted that we’re not sure how many of these actors and actresses will be appearing in all episodes other than the three main characters. It should also be noted that several cast members are on the younger side, so we might get a closer look at the training of Jedi Padawans, or even more flashbacks to Yoda teaching them (at least we hope).

What do we know about the plot of The Acolyte?

We have several sources for information about the plot of The Acolyte, including some released images of the sets, an official description and of course speculation from those close to it war of stars Galaxy. We’ve already seen a few footage from sources that have given us some insight into the physical sets, including a city that has yet to be identified. It’s important to note that the production appears to use more traditional cinematic techniques than the full LED screen that showcases such Boba Fett’s book used extensively. Some people prefer the look of Andor because it uses this more traditional approach, but both techniques have their pros and cons.

The official summary of the show is as follows:

The Acolyte is a mystery thriller that transports viewers into a galaxy of shadowy mysteries and emerging forces of the dark side in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are darker than they ever anticipated.

This show covers a never-before-seen era of the canon created by Disney, namely the High Republic era. At the time of writing this article, no shows, live action or animation, have covered this era. Chronologically, the show takes place 100 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, so many popular characters like Count Dooku, Qui-Jon Jin and Obi-Wan Kenobi weren’t even born yet. That doesn’t mean we won’t see familiar faces, however, as Jedi Masters Yoda, Yaddle, and others are still alive during this time. We also know that Palpatine’s master, Darth Plagueis, was also alive during this time, so we might get a chance to see the creation of Darth Sidious (which would make the reference to “sinister” powers a great pun).

How many episodes are in The Acolyte and what is the runtime?

Star Wars The High Republic

The upcoming series will have eight episodes in total. These episodes don’t have an official length, as Disney+ rarely states the runtime that far ahead of release, especially when filming hasn’t even finished yet. That being said, we can hope that the series will average around 30 minutes with each episode, which would give us around four hours of High Republic content to explore.

Will The Acolyte have a Season 2?

The show so far has many elements intended to show the development of the Republic through its equivalent of the Renaissance, which is essentially what the High Republic era was to the galaxy far, far away. This is a time that Disney has poured significant resources into, and we can expect that trend to continue. That being said, we still have no word on a possible second season The Acolyte or even on further projects set in that era. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen, but rather something that can be determined based on the success of the show’s first season.
