The original series

7 Ratchet and Clank Going Commando Duo

ratchet and clamp is one of the latest additions to PS Plus Premium and is a long time coming. This title started the adventures of Lombax and his loyal robotic friend. Ratchet and Clank must team up to stop Supreme Executive Chairman Drek from ripping apart planets to build his own utopia. It’s filled with colorful characters, pretty fun gameplay, and serves as a great start to the series. If players want to experience a more updated version, they can check out the PS4 ratchet and clamp remake that served as a tie-in to the movie, but many fans think the original version is better than the remake.

Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando continues the adventures of Ratchet and Clank in a brand new galaxy. Following the events of the first title, the duo are hired by Megacorp to recover an artificial creature stolen by a mysterious figure. Ratchet receives command training, hence the title, and Clank becomes an accountant. Expanding on the bombastic nature of the first, it introduces players to a brand new galaxy of wild adventures and enemies.

Ratchet and Clank: Improve your arsenal takes players back to the original galaxy for another high-stakes adventure. dr Nefarious is trying to invade the Solana galaxy with an army of beings known as the Tyhrranoids, and it’s up to Ratchet and Clank to stop him. The cast of characters is as fun as ever and the gameplay isn’t bad either. This was also the first time that ratchet and clamp Online multiplayer offered, but this service has been discontinued.

Ratchet and Clank: Stuck is the final game in the original series and perhaps one of the strangest. Ratchet and Clank are kidnapped by media mogul Gleeman Vox, and Ratchet is forced to participate in a blood sport called DreadZone. The gameplay is very different from the titles before it, as Insomniac decided to place more of an emphasis on gunplay than the platforming the series was known for. Clank isn’t playable this time either, as the focus is on Ratchet and his fight for survival. It’s a fun ending to the original series, but many fans feel it’s a step backwards from what came before.

The Future Trilogy

Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction launched the PS3 era of ratchet and clamp and was the first in the Future trilogy. The Cragmites Emperor’s crown prince, Tachyon, is after Ratchet for possibly being the last Lombax in the galaxy, and this forces Ratchet and Clank to flee the galaxy. They escape to the Polaris galaxy and must solve the mystery of the Lombax before Tachyon can. It’s a return to form for that ratchet and clamp series and expands on the series in fun and interesting new ways.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Finding Loot pick up right there tools of destruction stopped and follows Ratchet as he pursues Clank and his captors. It’s a much shorter title than the previous ones, replacing Clank with newcomer Talwyn Apogee. The story is filled with space pirate craze and serves as a nice bridge between the titles. It has almost everything gamers would expect from one ratchet and clamp game, but half the size.

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Leap in Time continues the Future trilogy with a story that delves even deeper into the mysteries of the galaxy. The story sees the return of Dr. Nefarious after Ratchet and Clank beat him up Expand your arsenal. It’s a startling tale where Clank attempts to correct time himself while Ratchet learns the history of his people. The game alternates between these two stories and features many fan-favorite characters such as Captain Qwark. It’s a pretty wild chapter in the ratchet and clamp series, and some fans consider it one of the best in the franchise,

Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus serves as a sort of epilogue to the Future trilogy, and it marks the end of the series’ PS3 era. The story follows Ratchet and Clank as they bring notorious criminal Vendra Prog to prison. Vendra’s twin brother, Neftin, and his gang of thugs break her out of prison, and Ratchet and Clank are forced to hunt her across the galaxy. It’s a pretty decent entry in the series, if a bit short. It serves as a nice extra chapter in the story of the Lombax and his robot friend, and also helps with the build Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

After playing the entire original series and Future trilogyshould players jump into the PS5 entry tear apart. PS Plus also includes Ratchet and Clank: All 4 Ones and Full frontal attackbut none of them really have a specific place in the series. They’re fun little adventures for those who want more ratchet and clamp Fun, and would be a good way to kill time during the long wait for the next Insomniac chapter in this series.
