After lifting his first international trophy by winning the 2021 Copa America with Argentina, what better way to bid Messi farewell than with a World Cup title. Ronaldo hasn’t announced that this will be his last World Cup, but the Portuguese striker would be 41 at the next World Cup. It’s safe to say that Father Time is undefeated.

France — without Karim Benzema, Christopher Nunku, N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba – will be looking to rise above their injuries and the off-pitch drama to defend their 2018 title, but with talented English and Brazilian teams, the French will have stiff competition for the trophy. United States will also be happy to advance from the group stage after a disappointing series of friendlies that led to the World Cup.
